If you have ever felt like you need time to destress or reconnect to your youth, go outside. Connecting with nature can provide a wonderful remedy for whatever may ail you. The simple act of putting your hands or feet in grass for just a few moments allows endorphins to be released, instantly decreasing stress levels.
Now to really feel like a kid again spend more than a few moments in the grass, dig in and go deeper. Create a garden, go for a nature hike and pay attention to what is around you as if seeing if for the first time, roll down a hill, swim in a lake, climb a tree, observe animals in nature. These are just a few ideas and if you have children commit to playing outside as often as you can. There is so much education to be discovered in nature, right at our finger tips. The amazing thing is that the "classroom" nature scene changes every single day. Nature also provides an endless supply of craft materials, just always be respectful of existing plants and critter homes. Think of how freeing it felt as a child to run endlessly outside, getting dirty without a care in the world! Embrace that feeling and get outside!
